Halcyon days

Have your say

how many readers recall their summer holidays in Bridlington in the 1950s and 1960s? I personally have many special memories, not least my singular enthusiasm for trips on the pleasure boats that competed for business in Brid harbour. My favourites were The Yorkshire Belle, The Bridlington Queen, The Thornwick, The Boy’s Own and the speedboats Swift and Bluebird. Trips were usually to Flamborough Head or south towards Spurn Point and occasionally to Filey Bay or a day trip to Scarborough. Truly halcyon and unforgettably happy days.
