Gyms fix it as company flexes its muscles with new business

A Barnsley company which specialises in making and installing fitness equipment is flexing its muscles and expanding after clinching a contract with a major Dutch sports equipment supplier.

Nytram Pro Gym Equipment, run by Martyn Stables and his wife Julie, supplies public and private gyms and includes prisons, police stations, RAF bases, hospitals and sports venues among its customers.

The new contract to install and maintain equipment on behalf of the Dutch firm has given a nationwide boost to Nytram’s business and prompted the company to look for new premises.

What’s more, Martyn Stables has been engaged as a consultant by Schelde Sports, which involve him installing and maintaining equipment for use by the world’s greatest athletes at The Lee Valley Athletics Centre, one of the Olympic training grounds in London.

With Barnsley Development Agency’s help, Nytram has moved from the Fallbank Industrial Estate, at Dodworth to a 1,8 00 sq ft light industrial unit on Claycliffe Business Park.

Martyn Stables said: “This has been a fantastic opportunity for us to acquire quality freehold premises in a really convenient location. The move here has been really simple and straightforward and it feels like the perfect place to grow the business and move things forward.

“We are really excited about the future.”

Angela Pedley from Barnsley Development Agency said: “Claycliffe Business Park is becoming popular with a wide variety of businesses.

“The site is still being developed, which means it’s not too late to secure premises on the next phase.

“We are inviting anyone interested to get in touch as soon as possible to find out more.”
