Police believe a gun may have been fired at a house in Sheffield.

A house in Norgreave Way, Halfway, was attacked last night, with officers today investigating the possibility that a gun caused the damage.

Officers guarded the property overnight and carried out a search this morning once it was light.

Inspector Jason Booth, of the Sheffield South East Local Policing Team, said: "It’s still early stages of the investigation into an allegation concerning damage to a property on Norgreave way, Halfway.

"Damage has been caused to a window in the property and it is thought this may have been caused by a weapon, possibly a firearm of some description.

"No one was injured.

"The area was searched this morning and enquiries are ongoing with both the occupant and local residents to see if they can offer any further information.

"The investigation is being managed by our force crime unit."
