Gun fired on Sheffield estate was '˜targeted attack' before car chase
An appeal for witnesses has been launched after a gunshot was fired in Woodthorpe on Tuesday afternoon.
At about 2.20pm, a white Ford Transit van pulled up on Nodder Road, outside the Premier convenience store.
Two men got out of the van and went into the shop.

Hide AdAs the men went inside, a silver coloured Toyota Corolla pulled up behind the van.

After the shot was fired, the two groups drove away from the scene towards Richmond Road, with the group in a short pursuit of each other before both vehicles left the area.
Detective Inspector Paul Wilson, investigating, said: “We believe that this was a targeted attack upon specific individuals.

Hide Ad“I understand that this is a frightening incident and I want to reassure the local community that we are treating it as a priority.
“Additional, high visibility patrols have been deployed into the area and even though we are in the early stages of the investigation, a number of enquiries have already been conducted with further, potential leads to be followed.”
DI Wilson added: “We will not tolerate the use of firearms in South Yorkshire and those who believe they are above the law.
“I would urge anyone who was in the area at the time, or believes they may have witnessed either vehicle, before or after the incident, to please come forward, as your information may be of extreme value to the investigation.”

Hide AdThe Toyota vehicle was recovered in the Poole Road area of Sheffield and members of the public may have witnessed the occupants leaving the vehicle at that location.
