Police have cordoned off part of a Sheffield suburb today following reports of a gun being fired.
Officers have taped off the area between the Cornerstone Building on the corner of Brunswick Road and Andover Street, along Spital Lane to the former Burngreave Library on Spital Hill.
A crime scene investigation van is at the scene.
Police chiefs stress nobody was injured in the incident.
A South Yorkshire Police spokeswoman said: “Police were called just after 10.30pm on Tuesday, August 12 to Spital Hill, Sheffield, following reports of a firearm being discharged.
“No gun was seen by the caller and no one was injured during the incident.
“Officers remain in the area conducting inquiries and a section of Spital Hill remains closed.”
