Rail firms are being asked to provide a later evening service from Sheffield to Dronfield for residents returning from nights out in the city.
The request follows complaints to the Friends of Dronfield Station group about the lack of a late-night train home for people going into the city to see shows.
Currently, the latest service to Dronfield leaves Sheffield at just before 9.40pm on Mondays to Saturdays.
The Friends are writing to rail firms asking for later services between Sheffield and Chesterfield to call at the town. They point out that operator Northern ran a recent promotion for Sheffield theatre tickets - when it is impossible to get a train home after a performance.
