A POPULAR support group that helps older people live independently at home in the north of Sheffield is celebrating a cash boost.
Foxhill & Birley Carr Live at Home scheme has won £2,318 from Sheffield Homes to help it continue providing services.
The group offers a range of services including door-to-door transport and a range of activities including bingo, crafts and excursions for pub lunches and day trips.
The group has run for 15 years and is a vital lifeline for people who live on their own but want to get out of the house for social events and activities.
Manager Louise Dyson said: “Many of our members wouldn’t get out and meet other people if it wasn’t for this scheme - I know it makes a difference to people’s lives.”
