Grey to green shambles
What on earth is going on with the so-called improvement project, Grey to Green, down at West Bar?
Buses setting off from Snig Hill out of town now get stuck in a single lane of traffic attempting to reach West Bar roundabout. Previously this approach road had two and three lanes and at busy times took a few minutes but the traffic continued to move. On some evenings now the traffic backs up to Snig Hill and takes 20 to 30 minutes to reach the roundabout.
The worst thing is there’s no end in sight to this chaos. The completed project will only have a single lane in either direction. Is this what is meant by green, sitting in choking traffic, looking at a nicely landscaped area outside the law courts?
