Green Party’s waste warning

A POLITICAL party in Sheffield has called on the council to work closer with trade union leaders and businesses to find better ways of managing the city’s waste.

Coun Jillian Creasy, from the Green Party, has submitted a motion to next Wednesday’s full council meeting, warning that recycling services will come under pressure when the city moves to fortnightly black bin collections.

She claims that a subsequent cut in services could result in more illegal fly-tipping.
