The Reds returned to action after last week's game against Burton was postponed when club volunteer Stephen Croft suffered a heart attack and they put on a show for him on the Fylde Coast.

They fell behind as former Tyke Harrison Biggings scored early on but Daniel Stendel's men hit back through Jacob Brown, Kieffer Moore and Mamadou Thiam.

Biggins, who came through the youth system at Oakwell, put Joey Barton's men ahead in the 19th minute when he converted James Husband's sublime cross.

The Reds, who have still only lost one game in League One, levelled just after the half-hour when Brown pounded on Alex Mowatt's ball to score his first senior goal for the club.

Moore then returned to the scoresheet after two games with a goal when he drilled into the bottom corner to give his side the half-time lead.

Lewis Coyle threatened a late leveller for the hosts as he tested Adam Davies, but Barnsley made sure of the win in injury time when Thiam curled home.
