A SKYDIVING gran raised £430 for charity through her daredevil feat - despite having two replacement hips and a new knee.
Two days before her 74th birthday Pam Evans, of Danesmoor, Chesterfield, took part in an indoor skydive which saw her reach heights of 39ft in a giant wind tunnel.
She was bought the experience by her granddaughter and donated the money to the Derbyshire, Leicestershire and Rutland Air Ambulance, the chosen beneficiaries of North East Derbyshire District Council’s Chair’s Appeal.
Mum-of-three Pam, who has four granddaughters and two great granddaughters, said: “I felt like Judy Garland doing ‘Over the Rainbow’. I enjoyed every minute of it. It’s been a fantastic laugh all the way through.”
Coun Ken Savidge added: “It’s an amazing amount Pam has raised. I thank her from the bottom of my heart.”
