The 35-year-old fighter landed badly after a right hand from Anthony Tomlinson as the pair disputed the super welterweight Central Area title fight at the Magna Centre, Rotherham.

Paramedics administered oxygen and he went to hospital, fight fans applauding him as he left the arena on a stretcher.

But such was the speed of his recovery, he was able to sit down to a plate of chicken and chips in the early hours of this morning!

Reagen Denton, who was in Dixon's corner for the fight, said: "Jayce went to hospital as a precaution and after a scan was released.

"He was well enough to go to The Wicker for chicken and chips.

"That's boxing. It is a dangerous sport, and this could have happened to his opponent as much as him.
