I’D like to ask north Sheffield people to support the planned new Sainsbury’s store in conjunction with Fletchers bakery on Claywheels Lane.
The plans have been altered so the store will face Penistone Road, with extra parking. The council had planned to improve Penistone Road but, because of cutbacks, funding is not available. However, Sainsbury’s plan substantial work on the roads for access and flow around the area, taking into consideration nearby residents. This must surely be a great help to the council.
These proposals would mean security for Fletchers, who have been a part of Sheffield for years. And staff required for the new store could be drawn from the area. Good news in this economic climate.
