GOLFERS in Sheffield will be taking to the course to raise money for conservation work in the Peak District.

A charity tournament is happening at Abbeydale Golf Club on July 20, in aid of the National Trust Peak Estates.

The event also includes a buffet lunch and a prize raffle, and teams can be of women, men or mixed.

Entry costs £45 for teams of four, and playing times are available throughout the day from 8.30am to 3pm.

The National Trust owns 12 per cent of the Peak District.

Its conservation work includes rebuilding dry stone walls, installing new accessible stiles and gates, and thinning native woodlands which have been planted over the last century.

Teams should call 0114 2360763 to book places on the golf tournament.
