Going from strength to strength

The University Centre Barnsley, part of the University of Huddersfield, has now been open for two successful years and is continuing to grow.

This year the centre has seen applications rise by more than 100 per cent.

Following a 5.5million renovation, students can now take advantage of new, industry standard TV and radio studios, music performance and recording studios and art and design workshops. The centre offers courses in Construction, Art and Design, Business, Multimedia, Digital Film and Visual Effects, Education and Teach Training, Early Years, Health and Community Studies, Psychological Studies, Sports Coaching, Humanities, Journalism and Media Production and Music.

The University Centre is welcoming and friendly - with a students from 18 to 80 years old.

A spokesman said: “We pride ourselves on the support we can offer our students, especially if you might have been out of education for a while. So what are you waiting for?

“We know you are bound to have questions about the University Centre, so we run Open Days throughout the year.”
