MEMBERS of the public are invited to a debate in Sheffield on the future of global energy in the wake of the Fukushima nuclear disaster.

Dr Wakoko Hironaka, former director general of the Environment Agency of Japan, energy experts and members of the Green Party will attend the event from 4pm on May 23 at DLA Piper Sheffield offices, St Paul’s Place.

Sheffield Central Ward Green Party Coun Jillian Creasy, Jun Arima, director general of Japan External Trade Organisation, Shinichi Kihara, senior energy analyst, International Energy Agency, Prof Neil Hyatt, a radioactive waste expert from Sheffield University and Teresa Hitchcock, DLA Piper senior partner, are also on the panel.
