Give your opinion as our website gets a makeover

Have your say

THOSE of you who check in with us regularly will have noticed we’ve given a massive make-over this week.

Our digital team has listened to all of your suggestions in recent months and have made it our aim to improve your favourite bits and dump the ones you didn’t like.

And now we want to know what you think about the new website - good or bad. And there are some great opportunities to win prizes while you check it out, so log on and get looking!

You’ll find everything from news - local, regional and national - business, health and features to sports - no better way to keep up with those Owls and Blades - food & drink, music and theatre. Everything is accessible at your fingertips and easy to navigate.

We are also proud of the huge amount of Sheffielders, people from South Yorkshire and others from across the globe who choose our website every day to voice their opinions on the latest sport and news.

To be able to do that on the new website you’ll have to register, even if you were registered on the old site.

It only takes a couple of minutes, but to ease the pain we’ll be offering prizes to those who take the time - not that most of our football fans will need any encouragement.

Everyone who registers in the first week, before noon on Tuesday, February 1, will be automatically entered into a draw.

We’ve teamed up with Sheffield Theatres to offer the top prize of a season ticket to the David Hare Season. The winner will get two tickets to each production on any date (subject to availability). And they’ll be other incentives along the way so keep an eye out!

If you have queries about the new website, no matter how big or small, email our digital team and we’ll get back to you asap.

We really want to hear what you think so that we can make the site as user friendly as possible for the people who count - YOU.

We’re compiling a user guide based on your questions and our answers - so just by asking you’ll be helping out everyone else.

n Here are a few tips we’ve compiled just to get you going on the new site:

1. All of our content is now much easier to find using the handy drop-down menus at the top of the screen. The menus drop down when you hover over the top tiles so select one - news, sport, community or lifestyle - and click.

2. We can now get more news to you with fewer clicks. Our homepage gives a handy overview of everything our new website has to offer so take the time to have a glance around the homepage and you might find stories from sections you hadn’t spotted before.

3. Register/re-register to comment on stories. Pick your username if you want a fresh start (you know who you are!) or stick with your old favourite, then you can comment as before.

4. Be sure to get in touch and we’ll do all we can to make your local news website the way you want it.
