Give this crowd some Lee way

THE owner of some of the most nimble fingers in the business there's rarely been a time when guitar veteran Albert Lee hasn't been on the road.

That makes him no stranger to Snig Hill audiences where he has previously awe inspired alongside his band Hogan’s Heroes.

They were formed by steel-guitarist Gerry Hogan to play at his annual festival in 1987 and a year later starred at the 20th International Festival of Country Music at Wembley.

Five years on they were thrilling Glastonbury, the Montreux Jazz Festival and The Prince’s Trust Concert at Wembley on the Night Of 100 Guitars with their friend Dave Edmunds. The band even headlined The Yilas Jazz & Blues Festival in Lapland.

They continue to ply their trade on the festival circuit, have featured on BBC2’s Later With Jools Holland and provided two songs for the Richard Harris film Savage Hearts.

Star names such as Willie Nelson, Eric Clapton, Don Everly, Lonnie Donegan, Chris Farlowe, Gary Booker, Marty Wilde, Nancy Griffith, Sonny Curtis and Rodney Crowell have all at one time jammed with the band. Tonight they play with Scott Shipley supporting.
