Girls in school uniform caught with alcohol at troubled McDonald's in Sheffield
Alcohol has been confiscated from a group of children, some of whom were wearing school uniform, at a McDonald's in Sheffield.
The youths were searched by police at the fast food restaurant on Penistone Road, which has been plagued by anti-social behaviour.
Officers said this evening: "A search was made of a group of females all aged under 18 years tonight and alcoholic drinks were found on persons. Even more surprising was that some of the girls were wearing school uniform.
Police recent hailed measures to address anti-social behaviour at the branch as a 'huge success'.
Officers began working with managers at the burger chain following a flurry of complaints about the behaviour of those using the branch.
McDonald's has said it reserves the right to refuse to serve individuals and has issued banning letters.
