Gig review: Jamming with The Wailers in Sheffield
Their relentless reggae bass could be felt right in the ribcage, and kept the eclectic crowd dancing - from seventy-year-old couples to seven-year-olds with mum. The high points were the classics from the Legends album, including an early I Shot the Sheriff, a soulful No Woman, No Cry, and a version of Jamming which brought the house down before an encore and some of their new tracks. There were romantic scenes aplenty, to Is This Love, too. All the members were mesmerising to watch on stage, dancing, dreadlock shaking and generally representing Marley in the way he would have wanted.
