A giant inflatable water slide could be heading to Sheffield next summer.

Slide Sheffield have announced plans to bring the UK's first 1000ft, three lane waterslide to the city next summer.

The company said they are working with Freshly Squeezed Events Management to bring the incredible attraction to Sheffield once they find a "suitable location".

The slide would be over 300 metres long and seven metres wide, with the company stating that Graves Park is an early possibility as a site.

They are hoping to submit an events planning application for the slide to Sheffield City Council shortly with a potential date of Sunday, June 3 2018 proposed for the event.

A spokesperson for company said: "Imagine sliding down the entire length of Hanover Way in Sheffield. This is fun for all the family, for 5yrs to 100+yrs old, so bring your sisters, brothers, mum, dad and anyone you can think of, to ride the UK's first 1000 foot, 3 lane inflatable waterslide in Sheffield.

"The event will host DJ's, food stall, water soakers, Community and Charity stalls and entertainment. Not forgetting the 3 lane 1000 foot water slide.

"We have only started promoting the event a couple of days ago and interest is growing steadily as people get to know about it.

"The idea came from the US and Australia where they have Urban slide, slide the city and Fun City Slide."

Slide Sheffield said that they will begin to release tickets once they gain more interest in the event on Facebook.

They added that part of the ticket sales would be going towards local charities and community initiatives.
