Getting ready for town show

Have your say

THE annual Rotherham Show returns to Clifton Park on Saturday and Sunday and is expected to pull in thousands of people.

This year’s programme includes a vintage vehicle rally of over 100 cars and two-wheeled wonders on Saturday, giving visitors a close look at vehicles ranging from a 1927 HH Franklin to a 1974 Jensen Healey.

The rally will start at Drummond Street car park at 10.30am, touring past Parkgate, into Rawmarsh via Warren Vale, down Haugh Road towards Nether Haugh and Greasbrough before heading back down Centenary Way to Whiston Crossroads, finishing at Clifton Park Museum.

The main arena will see prehistoric comedy capers, a Phoenix Falconry Flying display and the Nottinghamshire Police Pipe Band.

Sunday’s treat will be a day of jazz and colliery brass bands from noon. There is also a fun fair, and competition among gardeners at the horticultural contest.

The show includes Rotherham Diversity Festival, and the chance to see crafts, arts, workshops and performances.
