Getting inked for charity fund

A TEENAGER from Sheffield is making a permanent commitment for charity.

Richard Ward, aged 19, from Stannington, has pledged to allow a tattooist go to work on him - with a symbol designed by his friends.

He hopes the stunt will raise £5,000 for Cancer Research.

He has asked his friends and colleagues to vote on the designs - and is committed to accepting the winning sketch as soon as the £5,000 has been reached.

Richards said nominated designs included the Cancer Research UK logo and a warning sign which says ‘do not give beer’.

He said: “Everyone knows someone affected by cancer.”
