The Star appears to be receiving substantiation of apparent complaints regarding trips on Rustlings Road that campaigners have been asking for, for over a month.
As such, these apparent complaints can never be scrutinised.
Also, they have to be seen within a risk assessment context.
Accidents can be found anywhere and at any time – it is a risky world – and people could just as easily fall down their own stairs or on a flat surface outside, too.
Things have to be looked at in terms of how often and how likely they are to happen and the amount of people using the paths.
Just like when risk assessments are done for school trips – you assess it and put necessary precautions in – you don’t just ban all school trips forever because something once happened to someone.
You manage the situation appropriately and proportionately – as paid for by tax payers’s money.
