EIGHT gardens are being opened to the public in a South Yorkshire village to raise money for the local church.

The Thorpe Hesley and Scholes Gardens event is taking place for the fifth year, on Saturday, July 7, between 11am and 5pm.

Gardens will be hosting a variety of stalls and refreshments. Entrance can be gained through buying a programme costing £2.50 per adult with all proceeds going to Holy Trinity Thorpe Hesley Church.

Programmes will be on sale at local shops. For further information, call Fiona Wilson on 0114 2462517.
