Gang hunted after driver stops attack

A PASSING motorist helped stop a gang attacking two teenagers near a Doncaster superstore.

The lads were being assaulted on Eden Field Road, Edenthorpe, after they had left the Tesco store when the car driver sounded his horn and the youths ran off.

The teenagers, aged 16 and 18, had just come out of Tesco at 9.45pm on Tuesday July 31 and were followed by a group of about seven youths - one of them a girl - who were hanging around the trolley collection area.

Some of the group were on small-wheeled BMX-type bikes.

As the pair cut across the petrol station forecourt, some of the group followed on foot. Those on bikes went onto the road and caught up with the two teenagers on the main road near to the roundabout on Eden Field Road.

Both teenagers were assaulted by members of the group.

The teenagers received minor head and facial injuries and the 18-year-old was kept in hospital overnight for observations.

The main aggressor was white, 6ft, aged about 20, with short dark hair. He was wearing a black hooded top with dark bottoms.
