A man who died after being attacked by a gang has been named by police.

Sidney Cox, aged 57, died in hospital on Sunday following the assault in the Thorpe area of Leeds the day before.

A post mortem examination revealed he died of multiple injuries.

A 37-year-old Doncaster woman who was arrested on suspicion of murder has now been charged with money laundering offences.

Ann Dear, of Stockbridge Lane, Bentley, will appear at Wakefield Magistrates’ Court today.

Four other people were previously arrested on suspicion of murder in South Yorkshire. A 50-year-old man and two 16-year-old boys arrested in Doncaster have been bailed pending further inquiries and a 30-year-old man, who was arrested in Wombwell, Barnsley, remains in custody.

Police have now arrested two people from the Thorpe area – a 51-year-old man on suspicion of assault and attempting to pervert the course of justice, and a 50-year-old woman on suspicion of attempting to pervert the course of justice.
