ELECTRONIC gadgets are having a bad impact on family life according to a survey of Sheffield parents.

A third of Sheffield parents feel computer games, MP3 players and other gadgets are putting a negative spin on day-to-day family life, according to research from energy giant E.ON.

Beverley MacGuire, from E.ON, said: “It’s worth limiting the time spent using gadgets so the next generation don’t miss other activities.”

The survey said two-thirds of Sheffield would like to spend more time outdoors as a family, but many still rely on their children for help using gadgets around the house.
