A FURTHER 20mph zone is set to be created in a residential area of Sheffield.
The restriction – part of plans to set up the zones in residential areas across the city – will cover part of High Green north of Wortley Road and Mortomley Lane.
The plan is set to be approved at a meeting of Sheffield Council’s Northern Community Assembly on Tuesday.
The project will be paid for using remaining cash from the assembly’s highways budget, which is already funding schemes to reduce speed limits on Loxley Road and Worrall Road.
The two projects are expected to be £13,000 cheaper than expected because of carrying out the changes in conjunction with the Streets Ahead highways upgrade work. Estimated cost of the High Green works is £18,000.
