Fur-nomenal response as Doncaster community rallies to help dogs of homeless

Dogs of homeless people in Doncaster will be warmer through the winter thanks to a kind-hearted community.

People answered a council campaign by donating not only coats, but beds, food, treats, toys, leads and harnesses.

Coun Tony Corden, Cabinet Member for Trading Services, said: “I’d like to thank local residents. We’ve got enough dog coats for every homeless dog in Doncaster and will be out distributing coats and other items throughout the winter.”

As well as helping dogs, Doncaster Council is also committed to supporting their owners who may be suffering hardship by investing in hostels and a new outreach service.
