Grieving relatives of a murdered mother and daughter have paid tribute to the ‘loving, caring and generous’ pair.
Family members spoke after bidding a final farewell to Jean, aged 70, and 35-year-old Sarah Redfern.
At their joint funeral in Wath-upon-Dearne yesterday, they remembered how the pair loved to shop and holiday together.
Peter Redfern - Jean’s husband and Sarah’s father - has appeared in court charged with both their murders and remanded in custody.
At the funeral, Jean’s brother said: “Our family is deeply affected by the sudden deaths of Jean and Sarah.
“They were private and well respected members of the community as well as loving, caring and generous.”
Detectives launched an inquiry after their bodies were found at the family home in July.
