Kris was a staple on the UK wrestling scene and much-loved by both fans and fellow professionals.

Despite having surgery to remove a stomach tumour and undergoing 18 weeks of chemotherapy, Kris made an in-ring comeback last year to the delight of his fans.

But one month after his return match he retired for good as his cancer battle continued.

He said at the time: “I’m going to put this out there right now – I won’t ever be wrestling ever again. Gutted yes. But I have to accept this. Lots of love.”

Sheffield Wednesday fan Kris, who lived in the S13 area of the city, dedicated much of his time over the last year to raising funds for Sheffield charity Cavendish Cancer Care.

Victoria Wood, from the Broomall-based charity, said: “We’re all devastated. He was a brilliant ambassador for us.”
