Steve's daughter, Gracie Adams, said that the service was open to members of the public.

She said: "Close family are going to be bringing a small amount of flowers put together by a close friend of mine who has known Steve for almost her entire life.

"But we ask that others don't bring flowers and instead please donate money to MacMillan Palliative Care or Derek Dooley MBE Football Academy for disability football.

"Both are causes very close to both my dad's and our family's heart.

"Donations can either be sent directly to the funeral directors (W M Simpson and Son), in collection buckets on the day of the funeral, or an online donation page.

"We ask that people wear what they want. It will be a celebration of my dad's life. If people want to wear more traditional clothes for a funeral such as suits then of course go ahead/

"But some people have said they'll be wearing football kits, and I'll probably be wearing my The Killers T shirt I wore to gigs with my dad as well as a The Killers hoodie and jeans, so really anything goes!"
