Work colleagues, friends and classmates across South Yorkshire are gearing up for 24 hours of fundraising to ‘make it better’ for sick children.
The Children’s Hospital Charity’s annual fundraising event, Make It Better Day, is giving people the chance to do something fun to raise funds for the hospital in Sheffield.
On June 26, people can hold cakes sales, sponsored silences, active challenges, dress up and down days in a bid to raise cash for the charity’s appeal, aimed at raising £10 million to transform the children’s hospital.
David Vernon-Edwards, director of the charity, said: “On Make It Better Day you can do whatever you like to raise money for our wonderful hospital. It is a great opportunity to get colleagues together, have a bit of fun, and help keep our hospital at the forefront of paediatric care.
“There is just a year to go until building work is complete on our hospital transformation, so now more than ever we vitally need funds.”
Last year, hundreds of firms, groups and individuals across the country helped raise more than £60,000.
