Fun at last after floods despair

RESIDENTS of a Rotherham village finally forgot their flood problems at the weekend and had a bit of fun.

Treeton Fun Day had been planned to take place earlier in the year - but was a casualty of the devastating deluge in June.

Scores of villagers were affected after water poured into their homes and others were evacuated because of the threat that a dam at Ulley would burst.

The fun day was put on hold until the weekend when villagers finally had the chance to let their hair down.

The event, held at Treeton Cricket Club, included sports, children's entertain-ment, music and stalls.
