Fun on the farm for kids

PUPILS from a flood-hit school will have fun on the farm thanks to a donation from a South Yorkshire property firm.

The youngsters, who attend Toll Bar School in Doncaster, are being treated to a trip to Whirlow Hall Farm in Sheffield, an educational charity based on a 138-acre working farm. Children who visit the farm are introduced to the flock of 300 sheep, fully operational pig unit, free range hens and turkeys, ponies and a wide range of crops.

There are a range of activities to take part in, led by a trained education team, and groups can either make day visits or stay in one of the farm’s two residential units.

Doncaster firm TLB Properties Ltd decided to pay for the trip after seeing how badly Toll Bar School was affected by June’s floods.
