VILLAGERS are preparing to stage a fun day to help raise funds for a Sheffield animal charity which rescues dozens of abandoned dogs each year.
The Gringley On The Hill Charity Fun Day will take place at Middle Bridge Road on Saturday, June 9, between 11am and 3pm.
The family fun day aims to raise desperately-needed funds for Helping Hands Dog Rescue, based in Rainbow Road, Hackenthorpe.
Now organiser Katrina Toyne is appealing to people for help.
She said: “Helping Hands saves the lives of hundreds of dogs that are due to be put to sleep in pounds and many more that need help.
“The charity is running low on funds to pay vet bills, kennel fees transport and so on. So please help us to support this worthy cause!
“We desperately need to find donations for prizes, side stalls, bouncy castles and also need volunteers.”
The day will feature fun dogs shows including a dog and owner lookalike competition, stalls, raffles and dog displays.
