Fun for all the family at Doncaster races
Horse racing is a pastime that can be enjoyed by all theÂ family, young and old alike, and this summer sees aFamilyÂ FunÂ dayÂ take place on the St Leger turf atÂ DoncasterÂ RacecourseÂ sponsored by another favourite local attraction, Yorkshire Wildlife Park.
Sunday June 12 will see the Grandstand and Family enclosures transformed into a haven on family fun with a range of activities for children of all ages to enjoy along with Captain Barnacles from the Octonauts who will be making personal appearances.
“Our family fun days are always hugely popular with families from local Doncaster communities and further afield enjoying a packed race card and lots of family entertainment,” said Abby Chandler Marketing Manager Doncaster Racecourse. “We are delighted to welcome Yorkshire Wildlife Park as our sponsors this year and also Captain Barnacles the brave polar bear extraordinaire!”
Captain Barnacles, a brave polar bear and leader of the Octonauts crew, will be making personal appearances at intervals throughout the day. In the Grandstand Enclosure is Mr Dan’s Circus Skills Workshop, a magician, The Creation Station and a colouring competition whilst in the Family Enclosure visitors can enjoy Face Painting, a magician and Mini Kicks football fun. Grandstand tickets allow access to activities on both Grandstand and Familywhilst Family tickets are specific to the Family Enclosure only.
“There is plenty to keep the children occupied and with seven exciting races older children and adults can enjoy cheering on their chosen horse to the winning post,” said Abby. “And, in addition to the entertainment, we have restaurant packages available – a great way to enjoy a Sunday afternoon.”
