Rotherham United's winning run came to an end despite a valiant second-half effort against Wolves in the Championship.

The Millers trailed 2-1 at the break and pushed for an equaliser after the break but were kept out by resolute defending from the visitors.

There were near-misses in the second half but few clear-cut chances as Redfearn's men were beaten after victories in their last two matches.

Wolves went ahead in the fifth minute when Harry Toffolo was caught napping at the back post and James Henry nipped in to direct his header into the corner.

But the Millers, who lost forward Danny Ward to injury in the 12th minute, fought their way back into the game and, after shots by Jonson Clarke-Harris and Toffolo, the ball fell to Joe Newell who managed to direct it into the visitors' goal via a post.

The first half was an even affair but Neil Redfearn's men suffered a setback a minute before the break when Danny Batth arrived at the back post to head home Jordan Graham's corner from the right.

That proved to be the killer blow as Rotherham had most of the possession afterwards but didn't do enough with it.

Stephen Kelly was missing for the Millers with a groin strain and his likely replacement at centre-half, Farrend Rawson, was absent with a groin problem, so Danny Collins moved over from left-back, with Toffolo coming back into the starting line-up.

Other than that, Redfearn kept faith with the side which beat Bristol City 3-0 last week.

Former Millers favourite Adam Le Fondre started up front for Wolves as manager Kenny Jackett kept Benik Afobe on the bench.

Luke Hyam impressed after coming on as a second-half substitute for Joe Newell but couldn''t turn a frustrating afternoon in Rotherham's favour.
