Full line up of first Taste of Independent Sheffield market revealed

The full-line up of traders and artists who will appear at a new city centre food and drink market has been released.

A Taste of Independent Sheffield, which is being held for the first time his Friday to Sunday at Fargate and the Peace Gardens, will feature local traders, many of them selling food and drink, from the city and South Yorkshire region. Organisers at pub and bar operator True North Brew Co will also be running their own entertainments tent, featuring some of Sheffield's best breweries and live music. The event, which is expected to draw in over 30,000 people, will be opened by Lord Mayor of Sheffield Coun Majid Majid on Friday at 5pm. Their will then be a performance from Sheffield University Jazz Orchestra, followed by a secret set between 8pm and 8.30pm. Friday night will be brought to a close by Life Aquatic Band, who will perform from 9pm to 9.40pm. Between 1pm and 3pm on Saturday, there will be a chance to meet a local brewer and also get a 20 per cent Campaign for Real Ale discount. Music will come from the likes of The Hot Soles, Alvarez Kings, Rogue Siesta and Jack Hardwick, and Reverend and The Makers will end the evening with a DJ Set between 9.30pm and 11pm. The final day of the festival will see music courtesy of Henderson, Black Mamba Fever, Heavy Lids and Graces. There will also be beer provided from four Sheffield Breweries; True North Brew Co, Abbeydale Brewery,  Exit 33 and Brew Foundation. There is a gin and rum festival running throughout the weekend, with 100 different gins and rums on offer including local legends Sheffield Dry Gin, Sir Robin of Locksley Gin and O'Hara's rum. Food and drink will be available from 10am on Saturday, with local produce on offer including high flavour pulled meat wraps and grilled halloumi cheese from Dronfield's Pinch N' Pull and fresh high quality coffee from family-run business Beaumont Bags. 

 It's also a weekend of celebrations for five South Yorkshire breweries named in the latest Good Beer Guide; Dead Parrot Beer Co Ltd,  Don Valley Brewery, Hopscotch Craft Brewers Ltd, Loxley Brewery Co and Old Vault Brewery.
