Friends and family put their best feet forward in memory of cancer victim Wendy
Wendy Jankowski was diagnosed with breast cancer three years ago and although she had a period of remission the disease returned and claimed her life in July.
Now friends of the 51-year-old grandmother, from Greystones, are determined to raise awareness and cash to help tackle cancer and pay for vital research.

Hide AdKathleen Troughton, 52, who has also suffered breast cancer and was best friends with Wendy from the age of four, said: “I am determined to raise as much money as possible for Weston Park and for the research they do into this dreadful disease.”
Kathleen has gathered a team of 15, including Wendy’s 29-year-old daughter Vanda, to take part in the cancer hospital’s Think Pink Sponsored Walk, which starts at Meadowhall and ends at Victoria Quays, on Sunday October 7.
Kathleen, from Meersbrook, said: “I am devastated by Wendy’s death. It will be very emotional. I feel very lucky to have found such a wonderful friend who was my soulmate.”
