A free screening of an Oscar-nominated movie is to take place in Sheffield.

Film fans are invited to watch documentary Chasing Ice - which features the work of acclaimed photographer James Balog - at the city centre’s Showroom Cinema, Paternoster Row, on Monday, November 4.

The award-winning picture has won praise for its use of time-lapse cameras to capture the world’s changing ice glaciers.

Organiser the Co-operative has organised the screening to encourage more people to think about climate change.

Regional membership officer Giles Hall said: “This award-winning film has been screened at US Congress and the United Nations and we are delighted to be able to bring it to Sheffield.”

Places can be booked at or by calling 0114 275 7727.
