Councillor Mazher Iqbal, the Council’s Cabinet Member for Infrastructure and Transport, said: “The city centre will have so much going on over the festive season, including the well-established Christmas markets on Fargate, the visiting THORS Viking tipi bar in the Peace Gardens, and a programme of festive family events happening in the Moor market, this offer will give people even more reason to come into the city and enjoy festivities.”
In Fargate, the Christmas markets and Sleigh Bar is open from 10am to 6pm daily, and will also be open for late-night shopping until 8pm each Wednesday in December.
As well as traders from across the UK and Europe selling a variety of gifts, jewellery, crafts, the market includes a huge range of refreshment stalls selling hot food and drinks.
