Free meals for local nurses

NURSES are being offered free slap-up meals as thanks for their hard work over the festive period.

Two Crown Carveries restaurants in the Chesterfield area – The De Rodes Arms in Barlborough, and The Young Vanish Inn in Glapwell – are offering a free carvery to all nurses who call in between next Monday, January 9, and Saturday, January 14.

Danielle Sims, manager at The De Rodes Arms, and Christopher Hart, manager at The Young Vanish Inn, decided to reward the unsung heroes of nursing after research revealed more than 88,000 nurses in the UK worked on Christmas Day.

That means 22 per cent of the nursing workforce nationally missed out on spending precious time with friends and families over the festive period.
