Free doggie health check

Sheffield dog owners are invited to bring their canine companions along to the PDSA’s PetCheck vehicle for a free health check.

The vehicle will be at Jollyes Pet Superstore at Meadowhall Retail Park in Attercliffe Common from 10am until 5pm on May 19 and 20.

On board a PDSA bus, a veterinary nurse will examine the weight, body shape, teeth, eyes, coat and general fitness of dogs and offer free advice on other animals.

Microchipping for dogs will also be available at an additional cost.

Recent research published by the charity shows that, while the UK is a nation of animal lovers, many owners aren’t aware of what their pets need to live a healthy and happy life.

The PDSA Animal Wellbeing Report revealed the health and welfare needs of over 10 million dogs, cats and rabbits across the UK were not being properly met.
