A 17-year-old from Brinsworth, in Rotherham, has joined the ranks of the Royal Navy, after completing his basic training at HMS Raleigh in Cornwall.

Trainee Engineering Technician Freddie Bishop joined the service in March, and has now completed an intensive 10-week course, which culminated with a passing-out-parade, when the successful recruits march out before their families and friends.

Freddie said “It feels great to have passed my basic training. I hope to learn as much as I can in the next phase.”
