TENNIS lovers donned fancy dress and took to the clay for a four-hour marathon - as part of a campaign to save their courts.
The sponsored rally took place at Stocksbridge Tennis Club and was backed by city Wimbledon Winner Jonny Marray.
Members of the tennis club made a racket when they discovered their courts needed resurfacing but there was no money for the work.
They have clubbed together to try to raise the funds.
Chairman Martin Jackson said: “It was a great day and I hope we will have raised around £3,000. “Around 70 people took part and some of them were in their seventies.”
Wimbledon doubles winner Marray, 31, donated raffle prizes to the cause and sent a message of support.
The club is now planning a fundraising quiz, collections at Stocksbridge Co-op, and is seeking corporate sponsors and individuals to become friends and patrons of the club.
