Four fire engines turned out to reports of a blaze at a tower block in Sheffield city centre.

The fire in the Robertshaw Tower, Brightmore Drive, Netherthorpe, was contained to the bin store area, meaning residents did not need to be evacuated from their flats.

It is believed that the fire started after something was thrown down a rubbish chute.

The incident was reported to emergency services at midnight.
