Four car pile-up in Barnsley leaves three injured

Three people were injured in a four-car pile-up on Church Hill, Royston, Barnsley, yesterday.

At 1.50pm, a red Volkswagen Golf hit a silver Skoda Octavia.

The Skoda then hit a parked black Toyota Celica, which was shunted and hit a 40-year-old male pedestrian, causing serious injuries.

The Toyota and Volkswagen then hit a parked white Vauxhall Vivaro van.

Two passengers in the cars were slightly injured.

The Volkswagen driver was arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving and bailed pending further enquiries.

Witnesses should call police on 101.
