The Adopter Voice initiative goes live this week and a big welcome to the Yorkshire & Humberside consortium of 15 local authorities who have joined as early implementers.
Adopter Voice is a project funded by the Department for Education and delivered by Adoption UK to enable an improved adoption system directly influenced and continuously developed by adoptive families.
It is a community of online forums allowing prospective adopters, adopters and professionals to communicate on all aspects of adoption, share best practice and gather evidence. There will also be face to face group meetings arranged with a number of local authorities.
By October 2015 every prospective and adopter family in England will be able to challenge, support and input to the development of adoption services at local, regional and national levels so that they are adopter-led.
The Adopter Voice project is a golden opportunity for prospective adopters and adopters to get their views in early and help shape the way the Government delivers the proposals in the Bill. Signing up is easy and costs nothing but a couple of minutes of your time.”
The Adopter Voice forums can be accessed via our website www.adoptionuk.org with the first 15 local authority forums live from 1st July, the remainder will follow by October, 2015.
